E.K. Atwood Park (Beach Access 5) is located on the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 1.6 miles north of Andy Bowie Park. E.K. Atwood is open seven days a week and provides vehicular beach access. The park also provides parking area, a beach side covered pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms and a boardwalk accessing the beach.

Located adjacent to the Brownsville Ship Channel, on Highway 48 between Port Isabel and the Port of Brownsville, the Jaime J. Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp offers more than just a public boat launching facility. Other amenities include; a lighted fishing pier, two picnic pavilions and a kayak launch ramp. This unique site offers fisherman, boaters, bird watchers, nature enthusiasts and kayaker’s quick access to San Martin Lake and the Brownsville Ship Channel.
